CZR 2019 Update # 2 – Off to an Amazing Start
We have settled into our New Camp Facility at Chata Juraska in the Orlisky Hora Mountains of the Czech Republic. As far as we can tell we are about 1/4 mile from the Polish Border. This is our first time at this facility and we are delighted with most of what we have found here. The outdoor area is fantastic with a Sports Court, Trampoline, excellent open area for dancing and other group activities. All of this with a small stream running through the middle of Camp. We are at the bottom of a Ski lift in a lodge. We are working out some small issues related to how we work with the staff here. Pray that we will be a positive testimony for Christians as we have discovered that the entire staff are not believers and have had very little exposure to Christians.
While our Camp numbers are a bit smaller this year the energy level is very high. We have some excellent returning leaders and students on our American Team and all five of our first timers have hit the ground running and are taking everything in stride. The Czech Team of Christians from Archa Church in Pardubice are in the very beginning stages of getting their feet under them but we are working well together. This year we have two Sport Classes and four English Classes. Each year we have fewer and fewer true English Language beginners.
Our theme for Camp this year is “Home”. The Evening Talks come out of Luke 15 where a lost sheep, lost coin, and lost sons are found and brought back home resulting in great rejoicing. This gives us an opportunity to develop the idea that we are all longing for a “home” where we are loved, valued and wanted. God wants to provide us that home but we are all lost and God is searching for us so He can bring us back to that home. Pray that this message is clearly communicated and more importantly that it is received by the Czech Students here.
As we begin our week at Camp we need your prayers. Thank you so much for sending us, supporting us, and praying for us.
