The Pisek team is safe and sound in the Czech Republic! After having our flights delayed one day, we landed in the country on Wednesday. After landing, we left the airport and went to American team training at Cesky Sternberk. Our training was cut short by the flight delays, but still lasted for a day and a half. This was a great time for our team to recoup, receive training, and prepare for the days ahead.
At training, we met our JV intern team (Bekah, Connor, Emma & Anna) and our Czech leaders (Veronika, Adela & Eliska) who will be helping us run the English camp. It was great to see “our Czechs” after meeting them last year at camp! We love these amazing people!
Today, we arrived at our camp facility (Chata Cihelny) near the German border. We were here for camp last year. It is a great spot in the mountains with a rare commodity—an astro-turf field!
I have been so proud of the Písek team. All of our people have been really mature and flexible with the travel issues, and they are all ready for camp to begin. Our campers will arrive tomorrow! Please pray that we all get well rested tonight and are ready to begin new relationships with the campers tomorrow. Thank you in advance for all the prayers!
Grace and Peace,
Zach Benton (for the team)
