Digital Bulletin – April 19, 2016

Posted by Shane
· Sunday, April 19th, 2015

Message Outline:

The Parable of the Vineyard (Luke 20:9-19)

The Parable: (20:9-19)

The religious leaders/nation of Israel will reject Jesus, like they rejected the prophets, and be replaced in God’s plan by the Apostles/Gentile dominated church.

  • God graciously established the nation of Israel (20:9).
  • God graciously sent His Word to the nation, which they rejected (20:10-12).
  •  God graciously sent His beloved Son to the nation whom they killed (20:13-18).
  • God justly replaced the religious leaders/nation of Israel with the Apostles/Gentile dominated church (20:16,19).

The Principles: (20:9-19)

  • When God’s graciously chosen people reject His authority in their lives they will be removed
from their place in the plan of God.
  • God graciously calls us to be a part of His plan (20:9).
  • God graciously sent His authoritative Word to His people (20:10-12).
  • God graciously sent His beloved, authoritative Son to His people (20:13-18).
  • God justly replaces His people in His plan when they are not submissive to His Word and authority (20:16,19).
  • God opened a door for all people to enter and be a part of His story.

GROWTH GUIDE

  • Monday: Isaiah 5:1-7
  • Tuesday: Psalm 118:1-7
  • Wednesday: Psalm 118:8-21
  • Thursday: Psalm 118:22-29
  • Friday: Luke 20:20-26

NEXT STEPS FROM TODAY’S MESSAGE

  • I will enter God’s story by accepting God’s beloved Son as my Savior and Lord.
  • I will enter God’s story by responding to God’s Word, accepting His authority, and advancing His plan.
