We have our first complete day of camp behind us and we are all excited about the week ahead. The camp is full with 80 campers and many of them are here fore the first time. We also have many young campers (15-16) so the potential is great this year. The evening session this year are all about Peter and his relationship to Jesus. How he was called and followed Jesus but this denied him and was restored. We have already talked about his calling and how he began to see Jesus as very different than the religious leaders of his day. he saw people and not performance and he looked at the heart. As we move through the week the gospel will become more and more clear as stereotypes are broken down and the gracious offer of a restored relationship with God through the work of Jesus is offered.
Because of the opportunity for good weather we are taking our hike today. 16 KM in the Czech Mountains beside a river all the way. We are looking forward to it and reading it all at the same time. On a serious note this is the best opportunity we will have all week for extended conversations is a more relaxed atmosphere. Discussion groups are great but they are a little less natural. So please pray as we are spending time with these unbelievers who we are beginning to get to know and care about. Usually the hike is later in the week but our prayer is that this opens up the way for more significant conversations throughout the rest of the week.
Our energy level is high but this day promises to be exhausting but rewarding. We are so blessed to be here in the beautify place and with such a great opportunity to be used by God. Keep us in your prayers.
