Yesterday (Wednesday) proved to have a lot of Gospel conversations – all of which each of you and our teams had been praying for!
On two different teams, we had a child choose to follow Christ in their response! For one of the groups, another child responded and then asked if they could do a puppet show the next day (Thursday) to tell others about their decision. When we walked him home, he begged his grandfather to come and watch the show and shared his decision to follow Christ.
Notice the change that Christ is making in that situation: they followed Christ and now they want to immediately help others in their apartment complex do the same! I hope we never become numb to the power of Christ working in the lives of people.
Tonight during our sharing time to process the day, we had a lot of encouragement come from students to one another. When a high school girl compliments a middle schooler like Karsen Roach, the uplifting visual response is fun to watch. We have an usual amount of siblings on this trip, and it’s fun to watch the younger siblings follow the older sibling’s example and legacy. In particular, Nate Harrison had big shoes to fill in joining the trip with Andrew. Both have jumped right in and served with the same passion and desire to see people come to know Jesus. Trevor and Mason Shelton don’t operate in any of the same mannerisms, but both have been welcomed additions to the team in using their gifts and personalities to serve people. There has been a growth in maturity in our group from the opening day until now and I hope and pray that continues.
Today (Thursday) is our final day of ministry on the trip. It will be sad to leave here with the connections each person has made; but we are praying for opportunities for each of these kids to connect with weekly bible studies that happen in their apartment complex.
Final update coming soon!
