Way to go Fellowship and Central Arkansas!! We set some goals for this years OCC Shoebox Collection Season and not only did we meet them, but we exceeded them again. Just to recap, we set a goal of 12,200 boxes for the Collection Center and 3800 boxes for Fellowship. Our numbers for 2015 collection were 13,219 and 4277 respectively with 1200 of those boxes packed during our special pack in September. This was funded through the Easter Offering. Some other awesome numbers: 185 volunteers helped staff the Collection Center, pray, serve snacks and food and loaded the semis; 23 volunteers traveled to the Dallas Processing Center to help in the next step toward getting boxes to their final destinations; and countless people in the area took advantage of shopping at the GO Store and stretched their shopping dollars further. As you can see, so many people helped to meet these goals, but first and foremost God did! He put the empty shoeboxes out into the community and ensured they returned full of love and items that a very specific child in the world needs. Thanks for being a part of this awesome ministry! Now, take a breath, enjoy the holidays and let’s start planning for next year.
Here’s our New Year’s Resolutions for you:
- Pick up a tube of M&M Minis. Enjoy the M&M’s. Then fill the tube with quarters. This is a great way to save for your shipping.
- Save your shoeboxes from all those new shoes you and your family receive for Christmas. The Women At The Well need your boxes!
- Buy an extra roll of wrapping paper at an after-Christmas sale. They are dirt cheap and can also be used by the Women At The Well for wrapping.
Thanks in advance and Merry Christmas!
