Thank you for your prayers this week. The team is Eric Moffett (Pastor of FBC Pocahontas, AR & expert in all things theological), Jordan Greer, and myself (Chris). So far our trip has been wonderful. We have seen some great sights, enjoyed excellent fellowship, and been blessed by our time at the Bible Institute.
We spent Monday teaching on the Holy Spirit. I think that in a very experienced oriented Christian culture we were able to call our Nica brothers and sisters back to what God’s word says about the Holy Spirit and how he works. I honestly believe that the Spirit has blessed and guided our conversations all week at the Institute.
Tuesday we moved into Galatians. Our desire this week is to look at doctrine of the Holy Spirit, then Galatians and contrast a live of legalism with a life filled with the Spirit. Galatians certainly is the book for the job at hand. It has been a blast to teach from it this week. We’ve had around 100 Nicaraguan pastors and church leaders attending the Bible Institute each day. There are a lot of familiar faces that have been faithful each time that I’ve come to Rivas. The ongoing relationships is one of the best things about this ministry. The guys are doing great. Every time Eric teaches you get a great blend of theological prowess and pastoral wisdom. It feels like a profound benediction is right around every corner. Our interpretors and the ones that make this ministry possible are Cairo, Chico and Melvin. Their friendships are a real blessing and we truly view them as partners in this ministry. Jordan dove right into teaching and is hard at work to communicate God’s truth each time he teaches.
We are looking forward to Jim & Melanie Wilson joining us this evening. They are coming up from Costa Rica to see us and the Rivas Bible Institute. I’ve been trying to get Jim here to Rivas ever since we started this Institute in 2007. They are bringing a co-worker from Reach Global to do a story on the Bible Institute for one of their publications. We can’t let Jim come here and not teach so we’ve got him lined up for 3 slots on Thursday. It should be good.
Thank you for the prayers this week. Please continue to to pray as we wrap up our teaching tomorrow and begin to travel home. Jordan flies home from Managua on Friday. Eric and I will travel via bus back to San Jose Costa Rica with Jim and Mel then fly hom on Saturday.
