Do you ever feel like you are worn out from leading or that no one else is as committed to the HC as you are? That’s some of the feedback I got at the leaders dinners a few weeks ago. After processing the surveys you filled out for me, I think I have a better idea of how to help.
Two areas stood out where, overall, we are struggling (your HC may not be, but a large majority are) – Roles within a Home Church and Prayer. I want to spend the coming weeks trying to help those who have these struggles to be able grow your HC in these areas. Today I want to begin with roles.
There are many roles a HC can have; in fact, I gave you a list of about six or so not too long ago. However, it is clear I overdid it. With too many roles to focus on we did not get the few core roles we desire – Missionary Care, Prayer, and Service Project. I want to encourage you to reengage in the next two weeks with adopting a missionary; but here’s the catch – unless you have the time, I do not want you to be the one who is the connection for the missionary. You already do enough!
The best way to adopt one of our Fellowship missionaries is to specifically ask someone in your HC who follows through with things if they are willing to be the liaison between a Fellowship missionary and your HC. If they are willing, or at least willing to discuss all the details it would entail, let me know. The Missionary Care Team would love to visit with them to not only answer questions, but also help be an ongoing support so that they can be successful in the role. Two steps for you – identify and let me know. Long-term impact for our Fellowship missionary and for your HC! Win win!
If you already have a person identified and serving, please respond to this email and let me know their name and the name of your missionary. I have a list, but I want to confirm it is accurate and up to date.
